Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (SITFY) 

Postponement of the Fifth Edition of SITFY for Preserving Safety Until Further Notice On the basis of the statement of His Excellency, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding the suspension of study in schools and universities, and in accordance with the policy of the Egyptian government and the instructions of the Council of Ministers -in taking all precautionary measures to confront Corona Virus "COVID-19" such as avoiding any large gatherings of citizens or movement of citizens between governorates-, SITFY, under the supervision of Egyptian professional actor and director, announces the postponement of the fifth edition until further notice in order to preserve safety and security. The decision was taken after consultations with relevant authorities and Her Excellency, Minister of Culture, Dr. Ines Abdel Dayem, and Southern Sinai Governor, General Khaled Fouda, who emphasized the necessity of preserving safety and security. Mazen El-Gharabawy -SITFY's president- declares: We have exerted much efforts for launching the fifth edition of SITFY and finished all the preparations. Moreover, we have reached out to all theatrical groups. However, the spread of Corona Virus all over the world is the main reason behind the postponement of the fifth edition of SITFY. Thus, thanks a million for your understanding. We hope to be back on track as soon as possible in order to continue our work with all theatrical groups and experts. SITFY's Higher Committee highly appreciates each and every one who have accomplished his/her duties to the fullest. The fifth edition of SITFY bears name of legendary Sanaa Gamil. Moreover, SITFY is to dedicate the Authorship Award to late professor and writer Ahmed Sakhsoukh, who presented various theatrical and critical writings to the Egyptian and Arab theater. Most notably, the Egyptian veteran actress, Samiha Ayoub, has been appointed the honorary president of SITFY, the veteran actor, Mohamed Sobhi, head of the higher committee of SITFY, and Egyptian actor Tarek Sabri, the executive director. SITFY is managed by Dr. Ingy El-Bestawy and actor Mohsen Mansour, supervisor of the festival's workshops. SITFY is held under the sponsorship of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ines Abdel-Dayem, Southern Sinai Governor, General Khaled Fouda, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Tourism, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, engineer Ahmed Youssef and ITI UNESCO, chaired by his excellency engineer Mohamed Saif Al-Afkham.
