Mazen El-Gharabawy sheds light on the roles of Sharm El-Sheikh International Theatre Festival for Youth (SITFY) at Kuwaiti Scientific Forum for Arts and Media
The Egyptian actor and director Mazen El-Gharabawy -SITFY president- has successfully participated in Kuwaiti Scientific Forum for Arts and Media, by highlighting the significant roles of SITFY at both the Arab and international levels. During "the Roles of Art Festivals for Youth in the Arab World" session, El-Gharabawy presented a research paper entitled (the Investment Side of Art Festivals in the Arab World - SITFY as a Model). Additionally, the Forum is sponsored by the National Youth Authority.
During his speech, El-Gharabawy highlighted the roles of SITFY as the first international, competitive festival for youth, held in Sinai, Sharm El-Sheikh "the land of peace". SITFY represents a legendary carnival celebration aiming at reviving the touristic, cultural, and artistic aspects of South Sinai. On our beloved land, world stars participate in a cultural, artistic, and civilized celebration, reflecting the significant and invaluable roles of culture and art in developing tourism and economy and opening new prospects for the region's development.
Moreover, El-Gharabawy tackled SITFY's history and goals. He also highlighted the investment side of festivals in general and its relation to human resources. El-Gharabawy pointed out that launching art festivals is one of the most challenging types of investments due to the lack of human competencies and the economic crises Arab counties witness. El-Gharabawy also noted that despite the fact that youth always seek a better future and dream of achieving their aims, they face multiple obstacles. Thus, we need to put an end to the deep frustration of youth before it is too late.
Additionally, El-Gharabawy tackled the statistical data of SITFY's editions: participating countries, honorees, theatrical performances, juries, publications, workshops, and the statistical data and precise information of SITFY. El-Gharabawy started by screening a film about the successes of the previous editions of SITFY.
Eventually, the Egyptian actor Mazen El-Gharabawy -SITFY president- was awarded a certificate of thanks and appreciation for his invaluable efforts and his generous participation in the artistic events, as a role model for Arab youth.
